An exciting opportunity to join the Amshold Group of companies as IT Network Administrator at the head office in Loughton, Essex. The successful candidate will be responsible for the operation and administration of the company’s internal networks, servers, email and network security systems, under the supervision of the IT Manager.
Administration and maintenance of company’s internal IT systems
Configuration and set-up of all new server systems required internally for the company’s activities
Firewall administration and overall responsibility for network security
Administration of email servers for company-wide email
Administration of Blackberry Enterprise Server and handset support for Blackberry and iPhone/iPad users
Provide telephone and desktop support for office and field-based staff
Forecasting any necessary improvements, reporting and implementing system changes
Problem solving and troubleshooting software/hardware issues
Maintenance of public-facing web sites – working with in-house designers, web developers and senior management to amend and develop company web sites.
Skills / Attributes Required:
Thorough working knowledge of the following operating systems and software: VMWare VSphere 4.0 (upwards), Windows 2003 Server (upwards), Windows Terminal Services 2008, Exchange, BES, Windows XP, Vista, 7, Sage, Backup Exec, VEEAM, Microsoft Office 2003, 2007, 2010, SQL Server development and administration
Strong working knowledge of major networking components, network operating systems and basic computer hardware components
Hands-on knowledge of the procedures used in the installation, modification maintenance and repair of IT hardware and software
It would be an advantage to have web design / development experience with examples of web sites created. Working knowledge of key software tools – Adobe Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Flash. Solid understanding of HTML, CSS and Search Engine Optimisation (SEO). Cross-platform experience would be an advantage, particularly mobile devices.
Full UK driving licence with own transport.
